Amnis, in partnership with Process Master (www.processmaster.com) are running an open workshop on the 21st July at the Institute of Mechanical Engineers to provide Lean Professionals from a wide range of sectors with an understanding of how they can effectively map their processes and then communicate them, edit them and update them, as well as attach documents, pictures and other important information.
Following its launch last year and its Innovation Award, Leanpad goes from strength to strength with a number of healthcare organisations and consultancies already actively using this excellent and simple piece of software.
Used to convert basic and increasingly inflexible 'brown paper' process maps, current states and future states into easy to amend, add to and communicate electronic formats, Leanpad is a leading edge in the Lean Armoury.

Do you remember the rather bizarre statement made by Donald Rumsfeld about the Iraq War? He said something along the lines of "There are known knowns, there are known unknowns and there are unknown unknowns." He was paraphrasing an interesting and useful concept that I have chosen to form the basis of this blog and it goes like this........
I promised to update the blog after we had undertaken the experimental exercise to apply Lean Healthcare to a reduction in Medication Risk as opposed to simply Service Redesign and although it was a fraught and stressful journey, with the support of the nursing and medical staff as well as the National Patient Safety Agency we have managed to apply Lean Healthcare (and particularly VSAs) to the reduction in Risk.
