How integrated is your Lean Healthcare programme?

 
 

With many Healthcare Organisations undertaking numerous Service Improvement Programmes is begs the question about how integrated their Lean Healthcare Programme is into their overall improvement strategy....or indeed if they have one!

I attended a management meeting with a trust last week where I met with the head of Patient Safety Improvement, the Head of Service Improvement and the Lean Champion, all working in isolation of each other, all commissioning different agencies and consultancies to support them and what appeared to be little or not integration between the activities they were undertaking.

It begs the question about whether you are realising the full benefit of your improvement activities by integrating them or whether there is simply a creation of a series of Islands of Excellence.....what do you think?
