Lean Healthcare Expertise? What level is yours?

I met with a friend who works at an SHA today and she has recently been on a training course to develop her 'Lean Skills' (sadly not one of ours but there you go!) and during the five day course (which was manufacturing focused) it seems that they covered a whole range of pointless tools that you would only rarely use in a manufacturing context and which have very little application in a healthcare environment.

What struck me was that it seemed a case of 'inappropriate training' - learning skills with no practical application. My friend told me that she struggled to see the point of some of the tools - and she was positive about Lean - imagine trying to teach sceptics the tools!

The course also seemed to lack any understanding of 'How' to do Lean, instead focusing on the tools (again!)

Well, we run a very practical (and useful) Service Improvement Programme called the 'Service Improvement Practitioners Programme' and you can download an introductory presentation from http://www.downloads.amnis-uk.com/IPP.pdf and if you would like to know more then email us at info(a)amnis-uk.com.

If you have not already downloaded our FREE eBook 'Lean for Practitioners' then visit our website (www.amnis-uk.com) and sign up for our newsletter which will trigger a copy of our book being sent to you. You will also be amongst the first to receive the new eBook on 'Sustaining Lean Healthcare Programmes' when it comes out in November!
